YOUNG ACTORS CONSERVATORY AUDITION WORKSHOP

12:00pm – 5:00pm
Professional actor David Matranga leads an audition workshop that will give young actors the tools to find appropriate audition material, rehearse techniques that work, and develop your "Business" tools like your headshot and resume! If you want to try out audition material for that big school audition, scholarship or even college auditions, this is the workshop for you!
12:00 - 3:00pm
Workshops will cover finding appropriate monologue materials, rehearsing a prepared monologue and cold reading, tips on audition dress and protocol, how to build a resume, picking a great headshot - all the good stuff!
3:00 - 5:00pm
Time to perform your audition material for your coach, and take a sample headshot if you choose!

DAVID MATRANGA was last by seen by Houston audiences as Steve Baker/Max in Houston Grand Opera’s production of Showboat. This past fall, he appeared as Jean in Classical Theatre Company’s production of Miss Julie. Other recent productions include: Comedy Of Errors/Hamlet at the Houston Shakespeare Festival. In The Next Room or The Vibrator Play (Regional Premiere), Uncle Vanya (CTC), Mistakes Were Made (Stages Repertory Theatre) A Christmas Carol (Alley Theatre) Yankee Tavern, Auntie Mame, Complete History of America Abridged, Man From Nebraska, Grey Gardens (Joe Kennedy Jr./Jerry) and Lobster Alice, all at Stages Repertory Theatre. NY Theater: The Armageddon Dance Party (NYC Fringe), Ophelia: Opera In Blue (Hamlet). Regional theatre: He originated the roles of Patrick in 110 Flights and General Longstreet in General Desdemona at the 1st Annual Proctors New Play Festival. Other regional theatre credits include: Pride and Prejudice (Dallas Theater Center), The King Stag (Yale Rep), A Christmas Carol (Actors Theatre of Louisville). Film and TV: Patriot Act, The Rejects, Law & Order, All My Children, As The World Turns. David has also voiced over 15 Animated characters including Appleseed Ex Machina, Halo legends and Sony's recently released animated film, Starship Troopers: Invasion. Training: Yale School of Drama. David is very honored and excited to call himself a teaching artist and believes that giving the gift of knowledge, experience and passion to fellow artists is a vital part of creating art.
